Location: Stewiacke, Nova Scotia

Sector: Hybrid Renewable Energy System

Services: Electrical Support

Project Overview

Roguneil Farm has commissioned a 130 kW ground-mounted solar array, using Krinner ground screw foundations, to support their agricultural operations. This installation helps lower energy costs, enhance resilience, and improve operational efficiency for the farm business.

Our Scope

We managed this project from planning through commissioning. The major elements included:

  • Site assessment, layout, and structural engineering

  • Procurement and supply of Krinner ground screws as the foundation system

  • Civil construction

  • Installation of the ground-mount racking and module mounting

  • Electrical balance of system (inverters, wiring, combiner boxes, protection)

  • Interconnection with the farm’s electrical system

  • Testing, commissioning, and performance validation

Supporting Agriculture & Operational Efficiency

By integrating on-site solar power, Roguneil Farm can:

  • Significantly reduce electricity costs (particularly during peak daytime loads)

  • Hedge against rising utility rates and grid volatility

  • Increase energy resilience (especially during outages or grid stress)

  • Reallocate savings toward farm operations (equipment, infrastructure, staffing)

  • Demonstrate environmental leadership in the agricultural sector

This renewable installation directly supports the farm’s bottom line and long-term sustainability goals.

Impact & Vision

This 130 kW system at Roguneil Farm contributes to cleaner on-farm energy and showcases how thoughtful solar deployment can empower agricultural enterprises. As more farms and rural businesses adopt renewable power, we move toward a more resilient, low-carbon Nova Scotia.

We are proud to partner with Roguneil Farm on this project and look forward to future opportunities to support sustainable energy in rural communities.
