Highmark Power Inc. provided the electrical scope for the Bayside Travel Centre Microgrid in Nova Scotia, in partnership with Natural Forces Solar. This advanced energy system integrates solar PV, battery storage, and Level 3 EV charging, enhancing the facility’s energy independence, sustainability, and resilience.
Scope of Work:
Solar PV System: Wired and interconnected an on-site solar array, supplying clean energy to the microgrid.
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS): Integrated battery storage to optimize energy usage and provide backup power.
Level 3 EV Charging Infrastructure: Electrical set-up of high-power DC fast chargers, supporting electric vehicle adoption.
Power Distribution & System Integration: Connected all components, ensuring seamless operation between solar, storage, EV charging, and backup power.
Utility Coordination & Compliance: Worked with local utilities to meet grid connection requirements and regulatory approvals.
Testing & Commissioning: Conducted performance verification and system commissioning to ensure full operational capability.
This project demonstrates Highmark Power’s expertise in designing and delivering integrated clean energy solutions, supporting sustainable transportation and renewable power in Atlantic Canada.
